再見捌捌陸─臺灣眷村文化園區

從左營海軍、岡山空軍，到鳳山陸軍，高雄 獨特地同時擁有陸海空三軍的駐所以及眷 舍，讓眷村文化景觀保存了近90 公頃的面 積為全國第一。其中，以海軍為大本營的高 雄左營擁有全臺規模最大的海軍眷村，其歷 史可追溯至日本時代，當中明德新村因曾住 過許多高階將領，有「海軍將軍村」之稱。 2018 年夏天，高雄市眷村文化館遷至此處， 並以全臺灣列管眷村共886 處，重新命名為 「再見捌捌陸─臺灣眷村文化園區」，帶領 大家一同探索竹籬笆內的世界。

Kaohsiung features a unique presence of all three military branches, populating the city with not only military encampments but also the officers' dependents dormitories. From the navy camp in Zuoying, to the air force base in Gangshan, and to the army station in Fongshan, these special presence gives Kaohsiung the largest preservation campus of military dependents' living quarter in Taiwan which totals almost 90 hectares in size. The history of Zuoying as the basecamp of navy force can be traced back to Japanese governance. This has consequently enabled the district with the largest occupation of navy dependents. Among which, Mingde New Residential Quarter is nicknamed "Navy Generals' Village" due to its high volume of high-ranking navy officials once in residence. In the Summer of 2018, Kaohsiung Museum of Military Dependents' Villages was relocated here and changed its name into "Farewell, 886 – Cultural Park of Taiwan Military Veteran Village" – the new name takes its inspiration from the 886 officially enlisted military dependents' villages on record across the island of Taiwan to further commemorate this unique history.
